Last Legislative Session we worked actively to pass legislation that would increase the amount our scholarship pays for tuition and books. This coming session our focus is not only increasing the amount for the scholarship but also increasing the number of scholarships we can award. The legislative budget leaders have requested we survey our schools to determine the TOTAL capacity our schools will have for our scholarship students beginning in 2008-09 school year. We need your data in order to complete this request and provide evidence that there is additional room for these students so we can expand this program. Below we have listed two scenarios: total capacity for our scholarship students based on the current award of $3,750 and total capacity based on our goal of legislatively increasing the amount to a maximum of $4,500. Please take a minute and complete the survey with your best estimates of your school 's total seats that would be available for our scholarship students in each grade including renewal and possible new students. We are also encouraging non-participating private schools to consider participating in our scholarship program in order to expand the opportunities for choice at the same time we work to increase the number of families on scholarship.
